6 Tips to Stick to Your Workout Routine

Many of us are constantly searching for a way to stay motivated to our workout routine. We have the ambition to get started with a gym membership or workout routine, but it can be difficult to stick with the level of intensity or making it a habit. Whether you just need that extra boost of motivation or need help fitting exercise into your schedule, it's important to know what factors are at play when it comes help your stick to your workout routine.
Here are some useful tips to actually stick to your workout routine.

1. Start small
Start by setting daily goals for yourself based on your fitness level. For example, this could even mean taking the time to walk for 20 minutes during your lunch hour or adding on an extra 2 pounds to that weight rep.
2. Book it
Monetarily investing in your workout routine will help you place more value to the workout itself and you might not be as inclined to skip it; attaching a monetary value gives it more worth to you
3. Getting started is the hardest part
Once you’ve booked some classes or set a small daily goal for yourself just know that by starting with these few activities, you’ve gotten over the hump. By integrating these activities into your normal day to day life, this will become a new normal and habit you barely think about.
4. Find a buddy
We’re all more motivated if we know someone is going to be there to hold us accountable. Pick a friend or buddy and get to it. We can all be a little intimidated but if we’re going with someone else, those fears are squashed.
5. Do something you love
Make it realistic. Don’t book a class or continue to do an exercise you don’t enjoy. While working out might not always be “fun” there are ways to make it enjoyable and something you look forward to daily.
6. Boost your mood
Exercising = endorphins. That feeling of accomplishment and renewed energy after completing a workout always makes the workout worth it. This can start to help you stay motivated and focused at work, school, or whatever task you have that day.
